Born and raised in former East Germany, there is a profound optimism installed in us that a protest by the people can, and will, make a difference. The Umbrella Revolution is a very special and unique moment for Hong Kong. The HK student bodies stood up and instigated a movement of civil disobedience - something they doesn't happen very often in Hong Kong. I could not imagine a more amazing, creative and well organised protest. No cars were burned, no stores raided; people joined forces and made something very special happen. This movement has changed Hong Kong forever. In order to protect identities, I wont show any close-ups of protesters.
